About

About Me

Hi, I'm Carly and I absolutely love teaching violin. I grew up learning the Suzuki method, and have now played for 24 years. I participated in many orchestras including acting as concertmaster in the Maple Mountain High School Orchestra and playing in the 1st violin section in the Brigham Young University (BYU) Orchestra. I received a Minor in Music at BYU and am also Suzuki Certified.  I love working with children and adults of all ages.

How It Works

Happy Reviews

Carly has been such a blessing to our daughter! Our daughter had grown so quickly with Carly’s skill, teaching capacity and her kindness. She’s a bright and happy person, very encouraging and catches the details of what needs to be fixed or changed.

She’s a very talented violinist herself and often steps in to play along with my daughter to help her hear how the piece needs to be played or to help with the tempo. Highly recommend!

Carly is very encouraging and knowledgeable. I am an adult beginner and can see my learning curve rising quickly. Carly makes lessons fun and teaches a lot in each session. I leave each lesson wanting to practice for the next one!

She teaches musical concepts in an intuitive way through patterns, not just drilling on fundamentals. She goes at a pace that is perfect for me and tailors to your specific needs.

Carly focuses on my individual situation and helps me work through my problems with great tips in a thoughtful manner. She corrects my technique in a positive manner rather than focusing on small mistakes.

I highly recommend her as an instructor!

What is
the Suzuki method?

The Suzuki method is a music-learning program created by Shinichi Suzuki.  He believed that playing music was much like learning a language, and that every child could succeed.  The Suzuki method helps learners build on sound principles which are applied each time they play violin. This program allows for a unified community of musicians who share the same music and love for our instruments.
